How do I check my Amex Gift Card balance?
To check your American Express Gift Card balance, log into your account on our website using your card information. You’ll be able to see the available balance on your physical American Express Gift Card or Amex eGift Card.
How do I activate my American Express Gift Card?
You can activate your Amex Gift Card online or by calling the toll-free number listed on the back of your Card (1-888-846-4308). You will need to provide your card number, valid through date and the security code located on the front of your Card. Can I use my Amex Gift Card online?
Yes, you can use your American Express Gift Card online on virtually any site where American Express Cards are accepted within the United States and District of Columbia. To use online:
1. Make sure the balance of the Gift Card is more than the entire cost of the purchase, including taxes.
Please note: Some transaction types require a hold of up to 20% above the purchase amount. See your Cardholder Agreement for more information.
2. Select ‘Credit’ or ‘Debit’ as the payment method (Do not select ‘Gift Card’).
3. In the Payment Method section, enter the Card information as you would a credit or debit card.
4. In the Billing Address section, please fill in your name and address.
Are there purchase fees for Amex Gift Cards?
Purchase fees may apply to your order for Amex Gift Cards. During special promotions, there is an opportunity to take advantage of discounted purchase fees.
How do I customize my Amex Gift Card with a photo or logo?
You can add a unique photo or logo to your custom American Express Gift Card. Follow these steps to create the perfect design: Create custom Amex Gift Cards by visiting our Custom Design Page and selecting American Express® Custom Gift Card – Photo or American Express® Custom Gift Card – Logo. From here, you can select the Mail or Email format and then click the button to “Upload Your Logo or Photo.” Once you confirm your design, you can follow the steps as you would buying any other Gift Card with personalization options before completing your purchase.
What delivery options are available?
American Express Gift Cards can be shipped or sent electronically depending on the Card type that you choose. Digital eGift Cards are emailed to the recipient, with most arriving in as little as 5 minutes. Some eGift Cards take up to 24 hours for delivery, and all eGift designs can be scheduled for specified delivery dates up to 6 months out. You can view your scheduled delivery date on both your order confirmation email and on the Track Order Page.
Physical American Express Gift Cards can be shipped with varying delivery options. Choose from Rush (2-3 business days), Expedited (3-4 business days) or Standard (5-6 business days) delivery for plastic American Express Gift Cards.
Do Amex Gift Cards expire?
No, the expiration date on a physical Gift Card is printed for your reference. Funds do not expire.
Can I reload my Amex Gift Card?
No, Amex Gift Cards are not reloadable. If desired, additional physical and digital American Express Gift Cards can be purchased at The Gift Card Shop.
Where can I buy bulk Amex Gift Cards?
Many orders can be completed here at The Gift Card Shop, but some larger orders may need to be placed on our sister site. Visit AmexGiftCard.com for a streamlined purchase of bulk orders over $10,000 or denominations above $500.
Is my Amex Gift Card safe for online purchases?
Yes, but only use it with trusted merchants and websites. Always keep the copy of the Gift Card and store receipt, and always check your balance using the phone number or website on the back of the Card.
What happens if my Amex Gift Card is lost or stolen?
If you believe that your American Express Gift Card has been lost or stolen, notify us immediately by calling 888-846-4308 with your Card number and any other identifying information.
Can I use my Amex Gift Card internationally?
No, American Express Gift Cards cannot be used internationally. These Cards can be used where American Express Cards are accepted within the United States and District of Columbia.
